Religion has always been a struggle for me... the whole gay Catholic thing weighed heavy on my heart
for many years until a priest who was a good friend of my family told me to be who you are... God didn't create junk while sharing a whole lot of wisdom and compassion with me. I am forever grateful to that man. Today I still struggle with some of the beliefs of the church, but for me the Catholic church is home - I love the reverence and tradition I find in and through the community of the faithful. What I have found is there are things in every church will drive me crazy if I let it - or I can participate in what is the true reason I go - to be of service to God and mankind and perhaps find a little spiritual growth in it.
