I grew up in Dodge City KS I grew up in Dodge City, KS, on my grandparents’ farm. My dad was a cowboy who loved rodeoing. I enjoyed going to see my dad and uncles/aunts compete at rodeos—it seemed like every weekend I was at every rodeo they were going to. Growing up around country life and family, I’ve just enjoyed getting to know the personality, character, and good nature of many amazing guys who happen to be cowboys… rugged and amazing in their own way. It seems to me that country folk are more well-mannered, and our upbringing places next to none in respect. Like how cowboys know how to treat people and have good hearts, looking out for family and friends, and ready to have a good time when the time is right. Hardworking and passionate people! Gotta love a cowboy! My dad, Jack Downey, passed away on August 11, 2017. To me, he was more than a stepfather—he felt like my biological dad, and his loss has left a lasting impact on our family. Still, I’m carrying forward that strong country spirit and looking to connect with genuine guys who understand the heart of it all.
