HAPPY NEW YEAR 2026 My New Year 2026 celebration began Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. and lasted until Friday at 7:00 a.m. The 44 hour marathon included delicious food and drink of pizza, shrimp, ham, salami, assorted cheeses, cocktails, wine and desserts served poolside as I swam in an indoor heated pool. I enjoyed being all alone in the pool for 30 minutes before the other party guests splashed in. Later I dried off and donned my comfy flannel pajamas and sipped champagne as I watched the Times Square activities and ball drop. I was able to squeeze in six hours of sleep early Thursday morning then climbed out of a warm bed and consumed a delicious New Year Day brunch of oven warm croissants wrapped around savory sausage served with intoxicatingly aromatic French press coffee. New Year's Day, Thursday, was spent leisurely visiting with other party guests and enjoying sparkling conversations with more fantastic food and desserts. It was a great way to start the New Year with friends and delectable delicacies. Here I am flying high in my party hat and beads prior to pool submersion. Fidus Achates
