1. I am a Muslim because Allah (swt) has chosen that for me. I came to Islam when I decided that my major in school was Theology. I studied a little on Islam and was intrigued. I began to explore more and more and found myself practicing and believing many Islamic beliefs. Eventually I did pretty much everything a Muslim does and decided to finally get over with it and take my shahada hahaha A lot of people ask why I would become part of a people that so looks down on homosexuals. I did not do it for or because of the people. I became a Muslim because I love God, and his Prophets (peace be upon them). Islam really gave me peace. And in a funny way, it was because of Islam that I finally accepted my homosexuality. Islam taught me many things, and one was acceptance of what I am. I know many gay Muslims online, but none near me. Truth be told, I am a little afraid that someone on here is a radical and well... you know where I am going with this. So I will have to be very careful. I am not propagating that homosexuality is halal. The only thing I really want to change in mainline Islam, is the idea that homosexuals deserve death. We are people, and as people, we love and fear. We should not be judged for something we can not help. I kindly ask the homophobes to leave the judgments to Allah (swt).
